All I am trying to do is give people a glimpse of reality here. I dont think I'm better than anyone else because I am in school. The rest just lie so you won't think less of them. It goes down to about 2 after 2 of them develop some kind of alcohol or drug habit, get distracted, or pregnant. There are usually about 4 out of the whole bunch that are either going to school part time or working on some sort of business. It is dead end job they got sucked into because of the illusion of glamour and the quick easy money. At your average strip club the majority of the girls are not working towards anything. I can guarantee you that survey was conducted at a bunch of clubs in the best areas where the entrepreneurial or ambitious types would work. And whatever survey or research that was that people like to link as proof, it's bullshit. "Most strippers are in school or working towards something." False. Hell, some people might even say you had it coming. You know that it's not okay but who would care? Who are you going to tell? Nobody gives a damn about what happens to strippers. Being in your early 20s and constantly being yelled at by some man old enough to be your father but who is not actually your father and who is also always trying to fuck you, is a strange feeling. They think part of their job is making you feel like you are beneath them, a piece of trash. It sort of reminds me of restaurant chefs. They will swear at you, try to force you to come in on your day off and subtly threaten to fire you if you don't, and play favorites towards whichever dancer is screwing them while reprimanding the others for the most minor petty things. To them you are nothing more than a tool to use to generate more business for their club and more popularity for them. These men don't think you are some sort of empowered goddess. There is a certain type of guy that is drawn to the idea of being a strip club manager.

Something about managing a strip club seems to make these guys feel like they are the shit and they are untouchable. I have only worked in 3 strip clubs where the managers weren't gaslighting manipulative assholes.

I have worked in so many clubs in many different states, since depending on the season and certain events I'll travel to a different area. This empowerment thing they all talk about is an illusion.įirst lets talk about strip club managers.
